After a lot of conjecture, the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 has set its flight on 17th October 2021, Sunday hosted by Oman and UAE. Four eminent venues for the matches are namely- Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Muscat.
The tournament hosted by Oman and UAE will continue for 4 weeks. On the very Thursday, a strong fortuitous of match officials comprising 20 members were cast for the major event.
The opening game as decided previously, took place at the AI Amerat Cricket Ground, Ministry Turf 1- the cricket ground located at the place in between Oman and Papua New Guinea. Before the event was supposed to commence, the ICC keeping in mind the latest pandemic on the go has put forth several guidelines.
The ICC T20 World Cup 2021 is supposed to be the first multi-nation tournament to take place since the surge of the pandemic because of which it was moved out of India for this year.

Close contact with Another person-
As quoted by the publication “For casual contacts- those who are within physical contact but have their faces covered – there will be a 24-hour period where they are tested and accordingly released.”
To be more specific in case a person stands 2 meters away from the other person nearby for at least 15 minutes and 48 hours, before the symptoms or tests commence, they are said to be in close contact. Thus, they are required to be isolated for a term of 6 days.
Hospital Facilities-

In this tournament, ICC has even appointed a psychologist to take note and care of the player’s mental well-being during this tournament.

Does it call for the crowds to be doubly vaccinated?
Marshall said that the teams are strictly expected to follow the guidelines mentioned by the state government.
For the matches played in Abu Dhabi and Oman for T20 World Cup 2021, the fans need to complete the course of vaccination, but on the other hand, it is not necessary in place of Dubai and Sharjah.
Are families allowed to accompany the cricketers?
Marshall said that a small number of families would or shall be entertained to accompany and stay with the cricketers. He put forth the example of the Indian Premier League to support his claim.
Rules and regulations for the fans-
It is compulsory for the fans who come to spectate the match, to wear masks, and to follow other Covid-19 norms. Marshall said that the fans would not be allowed to interact directly with the cricketers.
Under such deliberate strict policies put forward for the teams as well the fans, it is hard to find the emergence of Covid-19. Taking into view the extent of precautions, rules, and regulations, there remains hardly any chance of the emergence of Covid-19 during the ongoing tournament. Everyone was waiting for this tournament, especially fantasy cricket team managers.
But it is good to be precautious and prevent any mishaps when situations as such can be avoided. Amidst this pandemic, this tournament has proved to be mind refreshing and an encouragement that in case of precautions are taken, mega-events as of this can be organized and pandemics can be battled.
